Your Retiree medical coverage will remain in place until you reach age 65, or, for your spouse, until they turn age 65.

Your medical, dental, and/or vision coverage elected when you retired will remain in place for 18 months.

Over Age 65

When you reach age 65, Medicare will become your primary provider on the first day of the month in which you turn 65.

Did Not Elect Coverage

If you did not continue retiree medical coverage at the time of retirement or if you canceled coverage during retirement, you are no longer eligible to participate in the Farm Credit Foundations benefit plans.


401(k)

Other Health and Welfare Benefits

Health Savings Accounts

If you had an HSA at the time of your retirement, PayFlex will change your account from the Farm Credit Foundations group account to an individual account.

  • You are responsible for any administrative fees charged by PayFlex.
  • You can leave your account with PayFlex or transfer the funds to another bank.
  • You are eligible to receive reimbursement from your HSA for expenses incurred both before and after the date your coverage ends. You can also continue to contribute directly to your account and taxes will be adjusted on an "above-the-line" basis when you file your income tax.

Life Insurance  

If you continued your basic term life, optional basic term life, and/or Group Universal Life insurance policies, contact Securian Financial directly to cancel or change coverage, make changes to your beneficiary, or if you have payment questions.

Address changes

  • Please send an email or written notification to Farm Credit Foundations
    • If you are enrolled in Medical, Dental or Vision, we will send this to the vendor
  • PayFlex - log into your account or call PayFlex to update the address for your HSA, Retiree Medical and/or Continuation Coverage
  • John Hancock – log into your account or call John Hancock to change your address, update your beneficiaries, direct deposit and/or tax withholding
  • Securian Financial (life insurance) - log into your account or all Securian Financial to change your address, update our beneficiaries and/or banking information
